During the Reformation of the 16th century, Protestant reformers shut down the monasteries and convents, allowing a few hundred municipal hospices to remain in operation in northern Europe. Those nuns who had been serving as nurses were given pensions or told to get married and stay home. [12] Nursing care went to the inexperienced as traditional caretakers, rooted in the Roman Catholic Church, were removed from their positions. The nursing profession suffered a major setback for approximately 200 years. [13]

Florence Nightingale laid the foundations of professional nursing during the Crimean War. [14] Her Notes on Nursing became popular. The Nightingale model of professional education, having set up the first school of nursing that is connected to a continuously operating hospital and medical school, spread widely in Europe and North America after 1870. [15]

Informed by a Christian worldview, APU’s nursing school prepares professional nurses for leadership and compassionate, collaborative practice in health care.

Through innovative programs and expert faculty, nursing students engage in challenging discussions, mentoring relationships in small classroom settings, invaluable hands-on experiences in state-of-the-art simulation labs, and a culturally diverse practice environment that includes both study abroad and global research opportunities.

Critical Analysis: The purpose for writing a critique is to evaluate somebody s work (a book, an essay, a movie, a painting.) in order to increase the reader s understanding of it. A critical analysis is subjective writing because it expresses the writer s opinion or evaluation of a text. Analysis means to break down and study the parts. Writing a critical paper requires two steps: critical reading and critical writing. http://users.utu.fi/bredelli/cda.html http://www.brocku.ca/english/jlye/criticalreading.html http://www.bcc.ctc.edu/writinglab/CriticalAnalysis.html

Is anybody a food critique?

13

A critique not of the real world. New players take time to bed in. Poorly argued nonsense to be honest.

The ELF is a radical environmentalist group that has turned to extreme violence in an effort to "bring about environmental change." Here s a description from wikipedia: ELF uses "economic sabotage and guerrilla warfare to stop the exploitation and destruction of the natural environment" Basically you should talk about how their actions do more harm than good and essentially replace one problem (deteriorating environment) with another (extreme violence and "economic sabotage"). Their Wikipedia article is a great resource to find out what they do for some solid examples. Check the sources for that one. Good luck!
